The city is divided by the Vistula River, with the most interesting attractions on the western bank. It houses the Palace upon the Water, the summer residence of the last king of Poland who was deposed by the Russians in 1792. There is a sculpture gallery in the Old Orangery there, and piano concerts are held in the theatre between May and September.
