Since then, Lourdes has become one of the most important pilgrimage sites in the world, attracting millions of visitors each year.

Immerse yourself in the history of Bernadette Soubirous. She was born in the 'Maison Natale'. The family had to leave this mill because her parents could no longer afford the rent. Because the family was so poor, they could only live in 'Le Cachot'. This building had previously served as a prison, but the prisoners had been moved because it was too small and damp. In this small, dirty house, Bernadette had to live with her parents and brother, until she saw the Holy Virgin Mary appear in the Grotto of Massabielle.

When you visit the houses, you get a glimpse into the life of this poor girl. Don't forget the fortified castle that stands on top of the 80-metre-high rock. You can also visit various museums including: Le musée Grévin, Le musée Lourdes and Le Petit Lourdes.
