Somalia and Djibouti's Favourite Airline
Daallo Airlines is an airline based out of the Djibouti International Airport with a major hub at the Dubai airport in the United Arab Emirates. They provide services to Africa and the Middle East and currently fly to cities in Ethiopia, UAE, Djibouti, Saudi Arabia and Kenya. The airline prides itself on its small, family atmosphere and offering fantastic service to a limited number of destinations. It is considered one of the best companies on Somalia and Djibouti. Because of its limited routes within the African Horn and to the East, Daallo Airlines views its strength to be its in-depth knowledge of the regions and the needs of the travellers it caters to.
The airline was established in 1991, beginning operations with a single Cessna aircraft. For the first few years of operation, the airline used Soviet planes to transport passengers and cargo across the Middle East and to the Horn of Africa. The later addition of Boeing and Airbus aircraft to the fleet allowed the company to offer direct flights between Djibouti and London in 2001 and to Paris in 2002. In 2007, the company received new shareholders and in 2015 combined with Jubba Airways to form African Airways. The company has an impressive track-record in environmental sustainability and social community programs and the airline consistently provides medical relief to local towns across Africa.
